Tune in to a Virtual Commemoration of Kristallnacht on Monday, November 9

Don’t miss a powerful virtual commemoration of Kristallnacht on Monday, November 9 at 7 p.m. to pay tribute to Holocaust victims and honor the resilience of Survivors. Kristallnacht Survivor Herbert Karliner will share his story and Superintendent of Miami-Dade Public Schools Alberto Carvalho will also offer a message to participants. Click here to register. Following the commemoration, tune in to South Florida’s public television station WPBT Channel 2 at 9 p.m. to watch Harbor from the Holocaust, which traces the story of nearly 20,000 Jewish refugees fleeing Nazi-occupied Europe to Shanghai, China. There will also be a chance to explore narratives from the Holocaust through film with a variety of movies streaming online, free of charge, from Sunday, November 8 at 10 a.m. through Monday, November 9 at 4 p.m. These events are part of Holocaust Education Week, a virtual program of film, presentations and discussions taking place from Monday, November 9 to Friday, November 13, presented by the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach, a Committee of Federation.
