Friendship and a Hot Meal Helps Lonely Seniors Through the Holidays

Seniors struggling with food insufficiency, especially during the holidays, can find a hot meal and companionship at one of five meal sites provided by Jewish Community Services (JCS) of South Florida, a Federation beneficiary agency. The newly opened JCS Café at 610 Española Way on Miami Beach serves the many Jewish older adults living in Miami Beach. In addition to providing meals, the sites are a community-gathering place where seniors can socialize with each other and enjoy recreational activities. Last year, seniors received 216,300 kosher meals through JCS.
