Onward Israel Visits Yerucham

Last week, 35 Miami college students who are spending the summer interning in Israel through Onward Israel visited Miami’s partnership city of Yerucham. During their trip to the Negev community, the participants explored the city’s history, toured Federation’s grantee Kulna’s art exhibit and heard how virtual reality technology can help people learn at MindCET’s EdTech Innovation Center. The group also connected through music while visiting a local brewery prior to Shabbat. The Onward Israel cohort is one of many groups visiting Yerucham this summer. Onward Israel, a department of Taglit-Birthright Israel, is a highly subsidized, eight-week internship program supported by Federation and The Jewish Agency for Israel that helps Miami-Dade Jewish college students build their resumes while working alongside their Israeli peers, immersing themselves in Israeli culture and strengthening their personal connection to the country.
