Jewish Overnight Camp Grants and Scholarships

The Greater Miami Jewish Federation recognizes the immensely positive impact of Jewish overnight camp on our community’s youth. To this end, Federation offers two financial assistance programs to make this unforgettable experience more affordable for families: One Happy Camper Incentive Grants and Jewish Overnight Summer Camp Scholarships.

One Happy Camper Incentive Grants

One Happy Camper is a program of the Foundation for Jewish Camp (FJC). In partnership with the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and Jewish overnight camps across North America, One Happy Camper provides need-blind grants of UP TO $1,000 to families with children attending non-profit, mission-driven Jewish overnight camp for the first time.

One Happy Camper grant recipients — just like all Jewish campers — will experience a memorable summer infused with Jewish education, awareness and identity.

Eligibility criteria for first-time campers:
  • Miami-Dade County resident
  • Entering grades 1-12 in the 2022-2023 school year
  • Attending public school or non-Jewish private school
  • Attending a non-profit, Jewish, overnight camp listed on Find A Camp
  • Enrolled in camp for a minimum of 12 consecutive days
  • Has not previously attended Jewish camp (Campers who previously attended camp for 11 days or less are still eligible for first-time camper grants.)
  • Jewish day school or yeshiva students are not eligible, but may be eligible for a need-based scholarship (see below)

GRANT AMOUNTS

$1,000 grant if enrolled for 19+ consecutive days
$700 grant if enrolled for 12-18 consecutive days
