PJ Library Sharing Chanukah With Miami School Children

Chanukah

PJ Library celebrated Chanukah by sharing the holiday with more than 1,200 children in public and private secular schools across Miami-Dade County. Thirty volunteers from the PJ Story Squad visited 51 classrooms of schools in December to teach students the universal values of Chanukah by reading the PJ Library book The Eighth Menorah, playing dreidel, serving sufganiyots and lighting chanukiyahs. Students also received their own copy of the PJ Library Chanukah booklet to take home. PJ Library, a gift of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation made possible by the Harold Grinspoon Foundation and the Blank Family Foundation, home-delivers free Jewish children’s books each month, sharing Jewish stories that help families talk about values, traditions and culture.
