Help for Seniors

Thanks to Federation beneficiary agency, Jewish Community Services (JCS) of South Florida, seniors in Miami experiencing food insecurity are receiving help. JCS operates five meal sites across the community to provide nutritious, kosher meals to seniors. The sites also gives them the opportunity to socialize and enjoy recreational activities together. For homebound elderly, JCS provides a kosher meals on wheels program. The service not only offers food, but contact, conversation and a way to check on participants' health status and living conditions. Last year, seniors received more than 186,598 kosher meals through JCS' meal sites and home delivery program.
