Shalom Bayit Provides Help to Domestic Abuse Survivors

shalom bayit

Domestic violence can impact anyone, regardless of religion, age, gender, education or economic status. Federation, working with our primary human service partner agency Jewish Community Services (JCS) of South Florida, is assisting survivors of domestic abuse through Shalom Bayit. Translated as “peace in the home,” the program provides short- and long-term help so families can live a life free of fear. The services offered include emergency housing at a safe location, counseling and case management services, job-placement assistance, financial support and access to the JCS Kosher Food Bank. October is recognized as Domestic Violence Abuse Month, and as a result of added stress during the pandemic, the issue is more pressing now than ever. If you are in an abusive relationship and need help, call the JCS Shalom Bayit hotline at 305.576.1818. All calls and assistance are handled in the strictest of confidence.
