Shinshinim Program Brings Israel to Miami

Federation is seeking warm and supportive host families for two 18-year-old Israeli emissaries dedicated to making a difference in Miami's Jewish community. In our ongoing commitment to connect Miami’s Jewish community with the people of Israel, we are proud to be bringing back the Shinshinim program to Miami. Shinshinim are high school graduates who defer their time in the Israel Defense Forces to serve as cultural emissaries by sharing their knowledge of Israel, its history, culture and people with various groups throughout the Diaspora. Organized by our overseas partner The Jewish Agency for Israel, the initiative brings Israel to life through educational activities around Jewish and Israeli culture, holidays, Hebrew instruction and more. Transportation is provided by the program. Home hospitality can be for three months or longer. If you are interested in hosting one of the teens, please click here to complete an interest form. For more information, please contact Bonnie Dawson at [email protected] or Lital Dayan at [email protected]
