Seeking Volunteers for Refuat Ha-Nefesh Spiritual Care Program

Federation’s Mishkan Miami: The Jewish Connection for Spiritual Support is seeking compassionate individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of others. The Refuat Ha-Nefesh Spiritual Care Program is a unique group of volunteers who will be trained in the mitzvah of bikur cholim (visiting the sick) and learn the art of spiritual care. From December to April, participants will engage in an empowering growth opportunity led by rabbis, chaplains, doctors, bereavement specialists and social workers. They will share support techniques from art, music and creative ritual to developing congregational caring communities. Classes are a mix of virtual Tuesday evening and in-person Sunday morning sessions. The program is free of charge. Applications can be accessed here and will be followed by an interview. The deadline is November 22. Click here for more information.
