Kasa Bainesay-Harbor and Dahlia Bendavid

Kasa Bainesay-Harbor was posted in Miami in March, 2019. In August of that same year, she assumed the role of Deputy Consul General at the Israeli Consulate. Previously, she served as the Deputy Head of Mission at the Israeli Embassy in Wellington, New Zealand. Before being assigned to New Zealand, she served as the Deputy Head of Mission at the Israeli Embassy in Yangon, Myanmar.

Bainesay-Harbor was born in Ethiopia. In 1991, at the age of 10, she immigrated to Israel with her family. She holds an M.A. from Tel-Aviv University in the field of public policy and a B.A. from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem in the field of international relations and education. She is fluent in Amharic, Hebrew and English.

As Director of the Israel and Overseas Department at the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, Dahlia Bendavid leads the organization’s overseas agenda by providing opportunities for philanthropic investment in Israel and abroad. Working with distinguished community leaders of the Federation, she directs the Israel and Overseas Committee, a standing committee engaged in global justice through philanthropy that allocates more than $8 million to overseas recipients.

Bendavid founded the Jewish Professional Resource Organization (JPRO), a local professional association for Jewish communal professionals, and currently serves on its Executive Committee. She also served on the Board of Directors of Beth Torah Benny Rok Campus for many years. Bendavid holds an M.A in industrial labor relations/human resource management from Cornell University/Baruch College, CUNY. She resides in Aventura, FL and has two adult children, Ariel and Noam.
