Introduction to Judaism is an engaging 16-session course for anyone interested in exploring Jewish life through a Reform lens.
Open to all, this course is perfect for interfaith couples, those raising Jewish children, spiritual seekers, individuals considering conversion, and Jews who want a meaningful adult Jewish learning experience.
Topics include Jewish holidays, life cycle celebrations, theology and core beliefs, Hebrew, prayer, the Bible and other sacred texts, history, the Holocaust, modern Israel, the American Jewish experience, and the tapestry of the Jewish people today.
Rabbis, cantors, and educators from local Reform congregations teach this in-depth course. Outstanding and experienced faculty encourage students to raise questions and engage deeply and personally with all topics.
The 16-session course is offered twice each year: in the spring and the fall.
To supplement the class experience, each student is asked to work with a rabbi or cantor from a local Reform synagogue. If you need help finding a clergy member, please contact Linda Levin at Miami.email@example.com, and she will be happy to recommend someone near where you live or work. Please complete the form attached here, and have it signed by your rabbi or cantor.
