Summary:
Tu Bishevat celebrates the wondrous natural world around us and especially the gifts of the Land of Israel as the ancestral home of the Jewish people. In the Jewish mystical tradition, the image of the tree, with its roots in the ground and its roots reaching heavenward, became a metaphor for the cosmic source that connects all life, and our own role in healing ourselves and one another. This year, we especially want to give voice to healing the trauma that has occurred in Israel and to express our hope, dreams, and aspirations for reconciliation and peace.
