Reports to: Director, Young Leadership Division Status: Full-time / Non-Exempt / Hybrid

The Greater Miami Jewish Federation (GMJF) is seeking a motivated, passionate and flexible development professional to support organizational growth by driving forward the vision and mission of the Federation. This role focuses on engaging adults between the ages of 22–45, the primary demographic served by the Young Leadership Division. The Campaign Associate is responsible for the outreach and engagement of individuals and families in Miami.

The ideal candidate has 1-2 years’ experience in outreach, relationship building, and engaging volunteers. They will be responsible for planning and executing events, meet and cultivate donors, and work closely with lay leaders.

The Director will provide visionary leadership to advance YLD’s mission as the primary “entry point” for young adults into the Greater Miami Jewish Federation community. This individual will be responsible for designing and executing innovative engagement strategies, overseeing a comprehensive annual campaign, and developing a pipeline of emerging volunteer leaders. The Director will work closely with Federation leadership, lay partners, community organizations, and national programs to strengthen Jewish identity, foster meaningful connections, and ensure a thriving future for Miami’s Jewish community.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Recruit, welcome and cultivate members of the community, ages 22-45, who are not currently engaged with the Greater Miami Jewish Federation
  • Serve as point of contact for people ages 22-45 looking for information about the Miami Jewish community
  • Work with volunteer leadership to plan and execute YLD events, programs, and committee meetings
  • Manage Live and Lead pillars
  • Plan and execute outreach events
  • Oversee Leadership Development program
  • Work with outside partner organizations
  • Strategically track and follow up with event participants for philanthropic and volunteer opportunities
  • Assist with the Young Leadership Division’s social media strategy
  • Identify prospects for new donors for the GMJF Annual Campaign and conduct face-to-face solicitations
  • Actively recruit volunteer solicitors and monitor their campaign assignments
  • Provide a Federation presence at community programs and events targeted towards young adults
  • Support/coordinate and recruit for Federation events and programs
  • Will work Federation events at large
  • Attending, staffing, and recruiting for a Summer Birthright Israel Trip

Qualifications and Skills

  • 1-2 years of experience in community organizing and/or financial resource development functions for a Jewish communal agency or nonprofit agency.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and writing skills
  • Proven ability in creating strategies to identify, cultivate, and solicit prospects, channeling donor engagement into charitable impact
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a leader and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of volunteer/professional dynamics and ability to develop volunteer committees to implement the campaign plans in their assignment
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Capacity to manage and organize information confidentially
  • Proficient in Windows environment, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Comfort with social media mediums like Facebook and Instagram
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed, with some travel, as part of a hybrid and adaptable work schedule.
  • Bachelor degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of Jewish customs and traditions is preferred.

This is a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
