Jewish Leadership Opportunities in Miami

Leader

Want to make an impact on Miami’s Jewish community today and help lead us into the future? The Greater Miami Jewish Federation wants you.

Federation’s Elevate Leadership provides a wide variety of opportunities to develop your leadership skills and put them to use to improve the community. Programs are offered annually or every other year. Check out the options below — some of which are based on age or other affinity— and then contact us at ElevateLeadership@JewishMiami.org or 786.866.8411.

Organization for Leadership Advancement In Miami (OLAM)

Olam is our longstanding, premier program focused on emerging leaders found within Federation and Miami’s synagogues, day schools and agencies. Chosen based on leadership potential, participants learn from high-level facilitators, teachers, thinkers and leaders from around the country in sessions that provide a deeper understanding of the Jewish community and important issues, as well as leadership development training. Olam participants stay connected after completing the program through a variety of alumnae engagement opportunities.

The Network Leadership Development Institute (LDI)

Organized in partnership with The Network, Federation's Under-45 connection, this program is specifically designed to help young Jewish adults pursue their leadership development goals.

South Dade Emerging Leadership

Organized in parnership with Federation's South Dade Branch, area synagogues, day schools and agencies, Federation hosts a six-part leadership program for emerging leaders in South Dade. The biennial program is designed to give the next generation the strategic and tactical leadership skills they need to succeed.

Israeli-American Leadership

Organized in partnership with the Israeli–American Engagement Committee, this leadership program focuses on the growing Israeli-American community in Miami. It is designed to enhance leadership, interpersonal and communication skills and to help develop closer ties between the Israeli-American and the broader Jewish community. Participants learn about the local and national American Jewish community, including demographics, structure, needs, challenges and history.

Solicitors Train-The-Trainer Program

One essential job of a Jewish community leader is asking others to support Jewish needs by donating to Federation. The two-part program teaches the skills needed to complete a successful solicitation. Elevate Leadership and the Financial Resource Development Department operate this program on an as needed basis.

J-Impact

Reflecting Miami’s multicultural Jewish community, J-Impact is a leadership development program created specifically for young Latins American Jews, many of whom are new to Miami. The program is a joint project of our North Dade Branch, International Division and Elevate Leadership.

Individual Opportunities For Involvement

Elevate Leadership also supports individual leaders in choosing the volunteer opportunities that match their interests and skills. Opportunities for involvement range from governance to hands-on-volunteering.

JPRO Miami

JPRO Miami is an association exclusively for Jewish communal professionals. This local branch of the national organization brings together professionals from Federation and other Jewish organizations for networking and leadership development. Click here to learn more.
