Israel Engagement
The Israel Engagement Committee helps identify ways of effectively promoting Israel programs for young adults in the community; provides advice and guidance regarding opportunities to improve effectiveness, coordination and program promotion; provides guidance on criteria for Israel program scholarship funding; reviews trends for Israel Program participation; develops a strategy for engaging Israel Program alum; looks at how to increase Israel engagement throughout the community, and oversees the Gift of Israel Savings Program (formerly Passport to Israel).
The Israel Engagement Initiative provides funds toward Israel Engagement and Education for organizations that design and implement innovative programs in the fields of Israel engagement and Israel education. Committee members review grant proposals, conduct site visits and makes funding decisions for this grant opportunity. The committee meets three-four times in the fall and once in the spring.
