Jewish Volunteer Center

The mission of the Jewish Volunteer Center (JVC) is to partner with Jewish and communal organizations in Miami to create a culture of volunteerism by providing a central clearinghouse for volunteers in the Miami Jewish community. Guided by the Jewish values of Chessed (kindness), Tzedakah (charity) and Tikkun Olam (repairing the world), the JVC works to strengthen the entire community through high-quality hands-on volunteer projects and service-learning initiatives. The more specific objectives of the JVC Committee should be to:

1. Provide opportunities for volunteer placement within our federation agencies.

2. Work in conjunction with all Federation departments to help create meaningful volunteer opportunities for lay leaders and community members.

3. Work together with our community at large to create large days of service for the Jewish Community.

4. The JVC committee works to provide a low barrier entry point to the Jewish Community by engaging all target groups and ages in Jewish service.
