Our Impact

Read the words of gratitude from some of the people we have HELPED.

“I thank you from the bottom of my heart. This loan during the coronavirus pandemic is a tremendous help. I hope that once it is paid off, I can donate to HFLA and help others in need.”

In 2013, sadly, my husband became very sick from liver cancer. We needed money to travel to Israel because he started his treatments there. That is when I started looking for a loan. My friend suggested HFLA. The next day I called the office and filled out the forms. I have to say that they were extremely nice and understanding. Soon, I got a call to pick up the check.

Five years later, I needed another loan for dental care and braces for my young daughter and I knew exactly who to go to. I did the same process and they accepted my loan application. I would like to thank HFLA for being there when I needed you most. It is good to have kind people like you so we can make the world a better place!

I was in need of new hearing aids. My insurance covered a portion but I was responsible for the balance. As a senior citizen living on a fixed income, it was impossible to make a large sum payment. Thanks to the interest-free loan from Hebrew Free Loan of South Florida, I was able to pay the balance of my hearing aids. I can comfortably pay down the loan without accruing interest on the principal.

My family and I are so grateful for the loan we received from HFLA. We were able to send our daughter to Hebrew school and watch her prepare for her Bat Mitzvah. The loan also helped with the beautiful party we had to celebrate. Without this loan, we would not have been able to see her achieve this beautiful rite of passage with our friends and family. Thank you so much for making this possible!

“I came across HFLA while searching on the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. I lost my job and searched the tab Community Resources as I both needed financial assistance and also a new job. From start to finish, HFLA made the process easy and quick. Everything was done confidentially as this is something very personal. I did not want people to know how bad things were. Luckily I have started a new job and this interest-free loan has helped me “catch up” on many of the payments, including my mortgage, which I fell behind on.”
