Attorneys’ Division Speaker Series Panelists

Attorneys Elliot Basner, Robert D. (Bob) Fatovic and Leslie Sharpe will be featured panelists at the Greater Miami Jewish Federation Attorneys’ Division Speaker Series presentation on “How to Make In-House Counsel Happy.”

Elliot Basner is Vice President and Assistant General Counsel, Intellectual Property for Diageo - the world's largest alcohol company. Elliot has been with Diageo for over nine years and is currently Primary Counsel to the Latin American & Caribbean Marketing and Innovation Team, the Global Rums Marketing Team, and the Global Innovation Team. Prior roles included Primary Counsel to Diageo’s Jamaican market, the Wine Brand Teams, National Accounts Sales Team, and Digital Governance Team. Elliot is currently serving as a member of the Board of Directors for INTA and is also a member of ASIPI.

Robert D. (Bob) Fatovic is Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary of Ryder System, Inc., a Fortune 500 global transportation and supply chain management solutions company. In this position, Mr. Fatovic leads the Company’s legal functions and serves as Corporate Secretary for coordinating all functions relating to the Company’s Board of Directors. He is also responsible for Ryder’s Safety, Health and Security organization, Corporate Compliance Group, Government Affairs and Environmental Departments. Mr. Fatovic is a member of Ryder’s Executive Leadership Team.Prior to joining Ryder, Mr. Fatovic was an Associate Attorney at Hannoch Weisman, PC, a New Jersey-based law firm, where he specialized in litigation and environmental law.

Leslie Sharpe has been the In-House Counsel at Rialto Capital Management since March 2011. As part of her responsibilities at Rialto, Leslie manages the litigation for the Small Balance Loans portfolio of over 3400 loans, engages attorneys for offensive, defensive and bankruptcy matters and prepares agreements to resolve loans. From 2008-2011, Ms. Sharpe was the Senior Litigation Counsel for Lennar Corporation and managed Lennar’s litigation on the East Coast of the United States. Prior thereto, Leslie was the Associate General Counsel at Levitt Corporation and an Associate at Kluger, Peretz, Kaplan and Berlin, PL (now known as Kluger, Kaplan, Silverman, Katzen & Levine, PL).
