Erica Brown

Dr. Erica Brown is a freelance educator, lecturer and writer, sharing ideas on the subjects of Jewish interest and leadership. She consults for the Jewish Agency and other Jewish non-profits. She previously served as the scholar-in-residence for The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, where she directed the Jewish Leadership Institute.
Erica writes extensively and is the author of 10 books, including Inspired Jewish Leadership,a National Jewish Book Award finalist. She has a new book coming out today called, “Take Your Soul to Work: 365 Meditations on Every Day Leadership.” She is often featured in the media and writes a monthly column for the New York Jewish Week and blogs regularly for Newsweek and the Washington Post.
Erica created the curriculum for this course, which is being taught here by Erica and Rabbi Efrat Zarren-Zohar, is also being taught in other cities across the country.
Erica has degrees from Yeshiva University, University of London, Harvard University and Baltimore Hebrew University. She is also a Jerusalem Fellow, is a faculty member of the Wexner Foundation, and an Avi Chai Fellow. She has received numerous prestigious awards, including the 2009 Covenant Award.
Erica lives with her husband and four children in Silver Spring, Maryland. Two of her children got married in the last year.
