Fran Drescher

Fran Drescher has earned a reputation for bringing passion and commitment to all her endeavors. She received two Emmy and two Golden Globe nominations for her portrayal as the lovable "Miss Fine" on the CBS hit series The Nanny, a show Ms. Drescher created and executive produced. Fran is also an accomplished author. Both of her books, Enter Whining and the award-winning Cancer Schmancer were New York Times best sellers.

A uterine cancer survivor, Fran has turned lemons into lemonade and pain into purpose through her leadership as a cancer advocate. She is the founder, president and visionary of the Cancer Schmancer Movement, a non-profit organization that is transforming patients into medical consumers. Fran’s mission is to shift America's focus toward prevention and early detection.

She was instrumental in the passage, by unanimous consent, of the bi-partisan bill, “The Gynecologic Cancer Education and Awareness Act” in 2007. This earned Fran two commendations in the Congressional Record for her lobbying efforts. She is the recipient of the John Wayne Institute Woman of Achievement Award, the Gilda Award, City of Hope Woman of the Year Award, The Albert Einstein Medical School Lifetime Achievement Award and many more. The Washingtonian named her one of the most effective celebrity lobbyists on Capitol Hill.

Fran was honored at the Knesset in Israel for being the first Jewish actress who played an openly Jewish character embraced by not only Israel, but by many Arab nations throughout the Middle East.

Fran has recently written a children's book, Being Wendy, and Fran was most recently awarded the Ally for Equality Award by the Human Rights Campaign for her efforts to defend civil liberties.
