Rabbi Alan Litwak Elected President of the Rabbinical Association of Greater Miami (RAGM)

Rabbi Alan Litwak, spiritual leader of Temple Sinai of North Dade, has been elected President of the Rabbinical Association of Greater Miami (RAGM) and will be officially installed at the Annual Sermon Seminar on Tuesday, August 26 at the Greater Miami Jewish Federation.

Rabbi’s Cheryl Weiner and Mario Rojzman of Beth Torah Congregation were elected Vice Presidents of RAGM. Rabbi Judith Kempler, of Temple Beth Am, will serve as Treasurer and Rabbi Ariel Yeshurun of Skylake Synagogue will be Secretary. Rabbi Jonathan Berkun, spiritual leader of Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center, is the association’s Immediate Past President.

“I am honored to join the many distinguished rabbis who have the helm of the Rabbinical Association of Greater Miami,” said Litwak. “I look forward to continuing their legacy of support and service to our colleagues, as well as providing a collective voice to and for the Jewish community.”

“I congratulate Rabbi Litwak for being elected by his colleagues,” said Rabbi Frederick Klein, Executive Director of the Rabbinical Association of Greater Miami. “Alan is a kind and generous sprit, and Miami benefits from his leadership."

Founded in 1935, the Rabbinical Association of Greater Miami includes approximately 100 rabbis — Orthodox, Conservative, Reform and Reconstructionist. RAGM members work closely with the Greater Miami Jewish Federation in a variety of areas, including sponsorship of Mishkan Miami: The Jewish Connection for Spiritual Support, whose volunteers and professionals provide spiritual guidance and visitations to the sick and elderly in medical facilities, social-service institutions and residences across the community.
