Sammy Schulman

Sammy Schulman is the Executive Vice President, Business Operations/Chief Financial Officer for the Miami HEAT and AmericanAirlines Arena (The HEAT Group). He can also be found assisting with player and sponsor contracts, spearheading organizational and strategic planning issues, and developing and maintaining financial reports, operating budgets and insurance. Additionally, Schulman oversees The HEAT Group IT, Human Resources and Office Administration functions. He is also responsible for the Box Office and the financial relationship with Ticketmaster, the team’s third party ticketing partner. Sammy is one of the Heat’s eight original employees and has been with the team for 25+ years.

Prior to joining the HEAT as its first Controller in November 1987, Sammy received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Texas in May 1982 and spent five years working for the accounting firm of Peat Marwick Main & Co. in Dallas, where he was manager on the audit staff. A Certified Public Accountant, Schulman is a member of the Florida State Board of Public Accountancy as well as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Schulman serves as the Board Chair for the Jewish Federation of Broward County. The Immediate Past Board Chair of the Jewish Federation of Broward County, Sammy has also served as the Federation’s Annual Campaign Chair, chaired the CCC, Men’s Night Out and the Major Gifts Gala. He and his wife, (Ibby), their twin daughters Brittany and Amanda and son, Benjamin, live in Weston. Ibby is a Lion of Judah and active on the Women’s Philanthropy Board of Directors. Sammy and Ibby together are proud members of our Legacy Society.
