Tal Ben-Shahar

Tal Ben-Shahar is an Israeli best-selling author and teacher who has spent his career exploring the idea of happiness. As a former lecturer at Harvard University, he taught two of the most popular courses in the school’s history, “Positive Psychology” and “The Psychology of Leadership”, with over 1,400 students taking his classes in one semester. Subsequently, Tal taught at the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya, Israel.

Tal consults and speaks around the world to Fortune 500 company executives and general audiences on leadership, ethics, happiness, self-esteem, resilience, goal setting and mindfulness. His multiple books have been translated into over 25 languages and provide a blueprint for finding meaning and pleasure in life. His latest book is The Joy of Leadership: How Positive Psychology Can Maximize Your Impact (and Make You Happier) in a Challenging World. He is also the author of Choose the Life You Want: The Mindful Way to Happiness, Being Happy: You Don't Have to Be Perfect to Lead a Richer, Happier Life and The New York Times bestseller Happier: Learn the Secrets to Daily Joy and Lasting Fulfillment. He has also co-written two children’s books published in Hebrew on Thomas Edison and Hellen Keller.

An avid sportsman, Tal won the US intercollegiate and the Israeli national squash championships.

As a serial entrepreneur, Ben-Shahar is the co-founder and chief learning officer of the Happiness Studies Academy (HSA), Potentialife, Maytivand Happier.TV.He earned his Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and B.A. in Philosophy and Psychology both from Harvard University.
