Greater Miami Jewish Federation, Its JCRC and RAGM Horrified and Saddened by the Rocket Attack on Majdal Shams

The Greater Miami Jewish Federation, its Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) and the Rabbinical Association of Greater Miami (RAGM) are horrified and saddened by last night’s rocket attack by Hezbollah on civilians in Majdal Shams, murdering 12 teens and children in the midst of a soccer game. We mourn the senseless loss of innocent lives and pray for the swift recovery of the dozens injured.

This blatant terror attack targeting children is the most recent of an overwhelming abundance of evidence that the primary goal of Iran, through its proxies (Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis and others), is to wreak havoc on the Middle East by attempting to destabilize and destroy Israel through any means necessary. Hezbollah’s decision to specifically target the Druze community is a clear indication that they do not distinguish between Jews and non-Jews and deem anyone living in the Jewish state as a target for their terror.

We pray for the safety of Israel and her people and we support Israel’s unequivocal right to defend its citizens from such despicable, gruesome acts. May the victims’ memories forever be a blessing and may Israel’s retaliation send a clear message of strength to Hezbollah and all of Iran’s proxies to deter future attempts of similar attacks.
