Federation Makes a Difference in the Lives of Israeli Women

Israeli nonprofit and Federation Women’s Amutot Initiative (WAI) recipient ItWorks is a shining example of how Federation support can help improve the lives of Israeli women. The organization, which equips marginalized populations with employable skills, has shifted some of its focus on efforts to train women impacted by the war. “ItWorks opened a professional path I could not have dreamed of,” said Lauren, who, when forced to evacuate her home in Acre this past year, found herself working part-time and barely making ends meet. ItWorks prepared her for a more lucrative freelance career in social media, which she had always aspired to. A recipient of WAI funding since 2017, ItWorks received an increased allocation this year, along with an Israel Emergency Fund grant to support an initiative assisting single mothers with job training and job placement.
