Introduction to Judaism is an engaging 16-session course for anyone interested in exploring Jewish life through a Reform lens.
Open to all, this course is perfect for interfaith couples, those raising Jewish children, spiritual seekers, individuals considering conversion, and Jews who want a meaningful adult Jewish learning experience.
Topics include Jewish holidays, life cycle celebrations, theology and core beliefs, Hebrew, prayer, the Bible and other sacred texts, history, the Holocaust, modern Israel, the American Jewish experience, and the tapestry of the Jewish people today.
Rabbis, cantors, and educators from local Reform congregations teach this in-depth course. Outstanding and experienced faculty encourage students to raise questions and engage deeply and personally with all topics.
The 16-week course is offered two times per year, in the Spring and the Fall.
Course Requirements:To supplement the class experience, each student is asked to work with a rabbi or cantor from a local Reform synagogue. Please complete the attached form, and have it signed by your rabbi or cantor. Your registration for this class will be complete once you have met with a rabbi or cantor and have registered online.

Summary:
The Miami-Dade Introduction to Judaism Course provides an opportunity to learn about Jewish history, traditions, holidays and life cycle ceremonies. Participants will gain familiarity with the symbols, liturgy, music, traditions and Hebrew blessings that accompany Jewish celebrations in the home and synagogue. Reform rabbis, cantors, and educators teach this in-depth course.
Introduction to Judaism is designed for individuals and couples wishing to explore Judaism, as well as for those individuals considering becoming Jewish. Partners in interfaith relationships are encouraged to enroll together. Individuals are welcome to invite a friend or family member to support their learning at no additional charge. The 16-week course is offered two times per year.
