Wellness Shabbat

Come together to celebrate Shabbat, promote mental wellness and decrease the stigma around mental health in our Miami Jewish Community!

In an effort to bring attention to May’s Mental Health Awareness month, BeWell Miami, Federation’s youth mental health initiative, is creating community-wide Wellness Shabbat opportunities. Through collaborations with local synagogues and organizations, along with individuals in the community hosting their own Wellness shabbatot, every Friday and Saturday throughout the month of May will be an occasion to recognize the importance of mental health as we gather together to celebrate the time-honored tradition of Shabbat

BeWell Miami has compiled a list of resources connecting Shabbat/Judaism with mental health and wellness, which can be utilized in both personal and communal spaces to support and promote discussions amongst family and friends. We are grateful to The Blue Dove Foundation for granting access to many of their expert resources linked below.

For additional information about BeWell Miami or how to become a partner in the community-wide Wellness Shabbat, please contact BeWell Miami Director Shoshana Farbman at [email protected].
