The Center for the Advancement of Jewish Education (CAJE) is Miami-Dade County’s central agency for Jewish education. Through innovative programming, strategic partnerships, and outstanding teaching, CAJE promotes lifelong Jewish learning across schools, synagogues, and community institutions. As a Zionist organization, CAJE is committed to fostering a deep connection to Israel as an integral part of Jewish identity and learning.

CAJE Adult Learning engages thousands of adults annually through salons, courses, lectures, and community-wide initiatives that explore Jewish texts, ideas, culture, and contemporary issues.


The Opportunity

CAJE is seeking a Senior Educator & Assistant Director of Adult Learning to play a key leadership role in shaping and expanding adult Jewish learning across Miami.

This is a highly visible, relationship-driven role that combines teaching, program leadership, and operational oversight. A central responsibility is leading CAJE’s thriving online school (approximately 50 courses annually)—overseeing faculty, curriculum, and program execution.

The ideal candidate is an exceptional educator, a natural connector, and a strong operator who can move seamlessly between big-picture vision and day-to-day execution.


Key Responsibilities

Educational Leadership & Teaching

  • Teach dynamic adult learning courses (in-person and online)
  • Facilitate salon-style learning and community conversations
  • Teach in the Day School Parent Education program
  • Represent CAJE as a leading educator across community settings
  • Shape curriculum and educational direction for adult learning initiatives

Online School Leadership (Core Portfolio)

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of CAJE’s online school (~50 courses annually), in close partnership with and under the direction of the Director of Adult Learning
  • Support the Director in shaping the vision, scope, and growth of the online learning program
  • Implement program strategy and ensure smooth execution across all courses
  • Recruit, support, and help manage a diverse faculty of educators
  • Solicit, review, and organize course proposals for Director approval
  • Coordinate faculty communication and help cultivate a strong teaching cohort
  • Partner with administrative staff to manage all program logistics, including:
    • Registration setup and enrollment tracking
    • Marketing and participant recruitment
    • Zoom coordination, tech setup, and troubleshooting
    • Class recordings and post-course follow-u

Program Development & Community Engagement

  • Co-lead major initiatives such as SAGES in the 305 Lecture Series
  • Support partnerships including the Miami Jewish Film Festival
  • Develop new programs and strategic partnerships
  • Build and maintain relationships with synagogues, institutions, and community leaders
  • Serve as a visible and trusted presence in the Miami Jewish community

Recruitment & Growth

  • Drive participant recruitment across programs
  • Expand CAJE’s adult learning audience and reach
  • Cultivate ongoing relationships with learners and stakeholders

Operations & Management

  • Partner closely with the Director of Adult Learning on strategy and execution
  • Oversee faculty coordination and program logistics
  • Manage multiple programs simultaneously with strong attention to detail
  • Ensure smooth, professional delivery across all initiatives

Qualifications

Required

  • Master’s degree in Jewish Studies, Jewish Education, Education, Religion, or related field or rabbinic ordination (any denomination)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Jewish education or communal leadership
  • Exceptional teaching and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated experience managing programs, faculty, or complex initiatives
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Comfort working with diverse Jewish audiences with openness and curiosity
  • Experience teaching and/or managing online learning environments

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong familiarity with Zoom and virtual learning platforms
  • Experience with email marketing tools (e.g., Constant Contact) a plus
  • Comfort with digital tools for program management and communication

Work Environment

  • Hybrid role (remote + in-person across Miami-Dade County)
  • Regular local travel (2–3 days/week)
  • Evening and occasional weekend programming required
  • No responsibilities on Shabbat or Jewish holidays

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual salary: $80,000
