What’s Next? Mid-Life Engagement Committee
A recent study by JFNA revealed that nearly 75% of Jewish adults aged 50 and over desire deeper community engagement beyond traditional synagogue life.
This committee is dedicated to creating meaningful opportunities for Jewish adults aged 50+ to connect with each other and their community. Through innovative programming, partnerships, and thoughtful engagement strategies, the committee will support individuals at various stages of midlife transitions, fostering connection, Jewish identity, and generational collaboration. This committee will play a pivotal role in transforming midlife into a stage of opportunity, empowerment, and deepened Jewish engagement.
Committee Goals:
1. Understand Community Needs: Conduct focus groups to identify the interests, needs, and aspirations of the 50+ demographic.
2. Evaluate Resources: Assess existing Jewish and non-Jewish offerings in the community (e.g., JCCs, CAJE, synagogues) to identify gaps and opportunities.
3. Develop Entry Points: Design diverse programs that address different life stages, including empty nesters, newly divorced or widowed individuals, sandwich generation caregivers, and those seeking new purpose in midlife.
The committee reports to the Planning and Distribution Committee (PDC) and meets 4 times a year.
