Job Description Summary

The Education Outreach and Engagement Manager will play a crucial role in expanding the reach and visibility of the Holocaust Memorial's educational and community initiatives. This position is responsible for developing outreach strategies, cultivating partnerships, coordinating speaking engagements and educational programming, and strengthening engagement efforts throughout South Florida and beyond.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing outreach strategies to increase participation and awareness of educational opportunities at the Memorial.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Education, provide training, support, and resources to volunteer speakers and 3G&4GMiami participants, a program of the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach that brings the voices of third-generation Holocaust survivors into classrooms throughout South Florida.
  • Coordinate scheduling of speaking engagements, school visits, and volunteer assignments.
  • Utilize Holocaust Memorial marketing materials to promote class trips, educational programming, and community events.
  • Assist in programming tied to key Holocaust remembrance dates and community engagement initiatives.

School Outreach & Data Organization

  • Organize and maintain outreach databases for schools, educators, administrators, and education-related contacts.
  • Track outreach activity, school engagement, and participation data.
  • Monitor and evaluate outreach efforts and educational engagement initiatives.
  • Gather feedback and prepare reports on program participation, impact, and growth opportunities.
  • Support ongoing strategic planning and outreach assessment efforts.

Volunteer & Program Coordination

  • Work closely with the Program and Visitor Manager to coordinate and schedule volunteer docents and speakers for educational programs, tours, school visits, and special events.
  • Oversee coordination and communication for school visits, speaking engagements, educational programs, and related outreach activities.
  • Assist in managing logistics related to school group visits, including scheduling coordination, program preparation, and follow-up communication.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with educators, school administrators, volunteers, and participating organizations to strengthen long-term engagement and program participation.
  • Assist with recruitment, scheduling, coordination, and evaluation of speakers.
  • Track speaker engagement, participation metrics, and program impact.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, History, Social Sciences, Communications, or a related field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in educational outreach, community engagement, program management, nonprofit work, or related fields.
  • Experience in Holocaust education, museum education, or cultural institutions is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication abilities.
  • Ability to build relationships with diverse audiences and community stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Understanding of Holocaust history and Holocaust education.
  • Commitment to education, civic engagement, and human dignity.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, virtual meeting platforms, CRM/database systems, and educational software.
  • Comfort with social media, digital communications, and AI-supported organizational or translation tools preferred.
  • Passionate about education and committed to the mission of the Holocaust Memorial.
  • Demonstrates empathy, professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and emotional intelligence.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Comfortable engaging with educators, students, survivors, descendants, volunteers, donors, and community leaders.
  • Event coordination and public speaking is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $70,000–$85,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Physical Requirements

This is a sedentary role with the physical requirement of being able to lift 15 pounds at times. The position primarily involves working at a desk, sitting for extended periods while using a computer, phone, or other digital devices.
