Chaim Katzman

Chaim Katzman is a visionary and leader in the real estate industry. He is the founder and controlling shareholder of Gazit-Globe, and has been serving as its Chairman since 1998. Mr. Katzman is also the founder and Chairman of Equity One, which recently merged into Regency Centers Corporation, creating the largest high-quality shopping center, REIT, in the U.S. He is also the Chairman of Norstar Holdings, Citycon Oyj and Atrium European Real Estate. He served as the Chairman of First Capital Realty until 2015 and has been a director since then. From 1992 to 2006, Mr. Katzman served as the CEO of Equity One.

Additionally, Mr. Katzman is the founder of the Gazit-Globe Real Estate Institute at IDC Herzliya, which he established in order to create an academic platform that will research, teach and encourage discussion about real estate. A pioneer of the retail investment and development industry, he is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT), the Real Estate Roundtable and the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate (AFIRE) and a trustee of the Urban Land Institute (ULI).

Mr. Katzman was named Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young in the Real Estate and Construction Services category in 2010. He serves as a trustee on Tel Aviv University’s Board of Governors. He holds an LLB from Tel Aviv University.
