Dr. Weiss spent the past 29 years at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, where he has served as the Rabbi Morris I. Esformes Endowed Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics; Chief of the Section of Adult and Pediatric Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism; Executive Vice Chairman of the Department of Medicine; and Deputy Provost for Research for the university.
