Enjoying Chanukah, Thanks to the Saul Schottenstein Foundation

Crispy latkes, brightly shining candles, gifts for the little ones … for a family struggling financially, these Chanukah items might be a luxury they simply cannot afford. That’s why Saul Schottenstein, z”l, made it a priority for the Saul Schottenstein Foundation to provide grocery gift cards to clients of Jewish Community Services of South Florida Kosher Food Bank during special times of the year, including Chanukah, Passover, the High Holidays and the summer. This year, some of those Food Bank clients even include Israeli families temporarily living in Miami during the ongoing war and will be celebrating the holiday far from home. Saul Schottenstein was a WWII veteran and a leader in both charitable and business endeavors who is fondly remembered for his humility and devotion to Jewish causes. Our community is grateful for his philanthropy, which touches hundreds of lives each year and will make this Chanukah brighter for so many this year.
