Using Technology to Coordinate Volunteers in Israel

With Federation support, the Israeli Volunteering Council (IVC) is using breakthrough digital technology to organize hundreds of thousands of volunteers to help Israelis in need. Since the emotional, physical and economic devastation experienced by Israelis following the October 7 attacks and during ensuing conflicts, volunteers from across the country and around the world have rallied to provide vital assistance. As a leading umbrella organization in the volunteering arena, IVC manages the work of more than 86 national nonprofits during emergencies, with more than 200,000 working with the IDF Homefront Command. Through Weme, a revolutionary digital management tool, IVC is helping organizations, volunteers and local authorities coordinate requests and tasks, connecting those in need with volunteers who can help.
