North Miami Beach, FL – May 17, 2016 – Hochberg Preparatory School is pleased to announce that it will be celebrating the incredible and acclaimed life of Dr. Ruth Gruber on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. by showing a one-time screening of the movie Ahead of Time. Dr. Gruber was born in 1911 in Brooklyn, New York and became the youngest female to earn a PhD at age 20.

Dr. Gruber went on to become a heralded international correspondent and photojournalist whose career spanned more than seven decades. Besides extensively traveling the world, she was a member of the Roosevelt team, which traveled to Alaska in 1942, escorted Holocaust refugees to America in 1944, and covered the Nuremberg trials in 1946.
