Sacred Aging –The Long and Winding Road Discussions about growing up, growing older and living longer Led by Eric B. Meyers Visiting Scholar: Rabbi Richard Address

Unless you’re Peter Pan, you’re in a constant state of growth – emotionally, intellectually and even physically. (Did you know that your nose never stops growing as you age???) Growth means aging – it’s an undeniable fact. Whether you’re retired, just becoming an empty-nester or getting ready to leave the nest yourself, life moves on. To learn more about how to navigate these transitions, Temple Judea is delighted to present a series of workshops given by renowned Rabbi Richard Address, Founder and Director of Jewish Sacred Aging.

Tomorrow Never Knows* Friday, Jan. 26th (Dinner and Discussion after Shabbat services)

Can Torah serve as a guide to our life's third stage? Unpack some classic texts that form a guide for positive sacred aging.

Boomers who leave full time work in their 60s or 70s can expect, given the wild card of health, to live for decades. What do we do with that time? Can traditional Torah teachings be a guide for this new life stage? How do we deal with the loss of identity from a "job" that often defined us?

A Hard Day’s Night: A Jewish Approach to Mental Health Monday, Feb 5th 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM

A look at our tradition's approach to mental health issues. An examination of the Talmudic diagnosis. An examination of approaches to dementia and Alzheimer's and a look at healing services and liturgy specific to this issue.

Here Comes the Sun: New Rituals for New Life Stages Monday Feb. 12th 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM
