Hebrew Academy Student Wins Bronfman Fellowship

Hebrew Academy (RASG) is pleased to announce that 11th grader Ethan Danial has been awarded a Bronfman Fellowship. Ethan was selected from a pool of hundreds of Jewish Day School and Public School applicants to win one of 26 Bronfman Fellowships which are awarded to top Jewish student leaders in the country. John Morse, Assistant Principal at Hebrew Academy’s Fana Holtz High School, states, “Ethan is equipped with all of the talent, energy, and enthusiasm to both contribute to, and gain personally from, the Bronfman Fellowship Program.”

Funded by Jewish philanthropist Edgar Bronfman, Bronfman Fellowships offer an unparalleled leadership experience that educates and inspires exceptional young Jews from diverse backgrounds through an intensive year of seminars and robust alumni community. Twenty-six North American students entering their senior year of high school are selected each year for the prestigious Fellowship. The Fellowship begins with a 5-week, all-expenses-paid summer program in Israel where Fellows travel through the country, explore their Jewish identity, and engage with thinkers, authors, artists and educators in a transformative experience, while learning about themselves and each other. The Fellows participate in two educational seminars in New York and regular virtual sessions over the course of their senior year. In addition, each Fellow pursues a Ma’aseh (social action) project during their fellowship year, for which each fellow is paired with an alumni mentor.

Bronfman Fellows seek out personal and intellectual growth through intensive learning, discussion and openness to others. The Fellowship enables highly capable students to participate in a dynamic conversation about the future of Judaism and the wider world. Fellows come from a wide range of Jewish backgrounds, including those immersed in Jewish life and those with no prior Jewish education.

The Hebrew Academy is an Orthodox Jewish, college and yeshiva preparatory school, serving students from six weeks of age through grade 12 that inspires and equips students to achieve their greatest potential both academically and spiritually by focusing on their individual attributes and instilling eternal Torah values in a changing world.
