Kehillah on the Beach — A New Friday Night Tradition!
Posted by Lauren Gold on 07/20/2025 @ 09:31 AM
Come be part of something new — where tradition, music, and community meet by the sea.
Every Friday night at the Cuban Hebrew Congregation | 7 PM
Followed by a lively and delicious Oneg | 8 PM
A dedicated group of former Temple Israel members has launched Kehillah on the Beach, a new Friday night Shabbat experience led by Rabbi/Cantor Rachelle Nelson.
When the Cuban Hebrew Congregation — Beth Shmuel — learned that Kehillah was looking for a home, they graciously opened their doors. With no existing Friday night service of their own, the historic Miami Beach synagogue welcomed the opportunity to host this new spiritual community in their sanctuary.
The inaugural service took place on Friday night, July 18, with 61 people in attendance. Rabbi/Cantor Nelson, known for her warmth and musical spirit from her years at Temple Israel and Temple Beth Am, led the community in a moving and joyful celebration of Shabbat.
Reservations required for security | Please RSVP by contacting Mark Nedlin at 917.373.7794 or [email protected].
