It Was A Very Happy Birthday Celebration for PJ Library

The PJ Library threw a festive “birthday party”—replete with PJ Library story times, art projects, music, yoga/movement, child-parent activities and refreshments—to celebrate the Birthday of the World (the Jewish New Year) and PJ’s third year in Miami. The Sept. 18th event was held at Playing the Game of Life in Miami Beach.

Not only did participants enjoy complimentary birthday cupcakes and PJ Library goodies to take home with them, but they also gave back by donating items to benefit the Jewish Community Services Kosher Food Bank.

Partnering with The PJ Library, a program of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, were communal partners Jewish Community Services of South Florida, Lehrman Community Day School, Miami Beach JCC, RASG Hebrew Academy, Temple Beth Sholom Foundation School, Temple Israel/Tate Early Childhood Center, Temple Menorah Jewish Montessori School, and The Open Tent.

PJ Library Co-Chairs are Amanda Adler and Judy Kapiloff, and the new PJ Library Coordinator is Laura Goldberg.

The PJ Library mails free Jewish children’s books and music to families on a monthly basis. Funded by the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, it is made possible for Miami’s community thanks to the generosity of the Blank Family Foundation. Young subscribers range in age from 6 months to 8 years old. In addition to creating Jewish moments in the home, Miami’s PJ Library also strives to engage young families actively and in person through programs in collaboration with synagogues, JCCs, local agencies and organizational partners in the community.
