Federation Partners are Building Bridges During the Coronavirus Crisis

Bridges

The Miami-Yerucham Partnership has taken its mission of building people-to-people relationships between the two cities to the next level. A few months ago, the Yerucham Robotics high school team (Y Team) made face shields for Federation partner agencies in Israel that serve populations with special needs. They were so appreciated that we immediately asked the Y Team for another batch for our three Miami Jewish community centers (JCC). On her return trip from Israel, Federation Shlicha Tamar Kolumbus brought back 150 homemade face shields and hand-delivered them to the Alper JCC Miami, the Miami Beach JCC and the Michael-Ann Russell JCC. Each JCC received 50 face shields to be used by staff to further protect themselves and our community."We were so impressed by our friends in Yerucham, who created these face shields especially for us," said Dror Gershoni, Program Director at the Michael-Ann Russell JCC. "It was so heartwarming to receive them and know they are thinking about us."
