Diller Teen Fellows Kick Off The Year With Meaningful Programs

Diller

The 8th Cohort of the Miami Diller Teen Fellows kicked off its year virtually — without missing a beat. The prestigious program, operated by Federation subsidiary agency the Center for the Advancement of Jewish Education (CAJE), brings together 10th and 11th graders for a year of leadership development, camaraderie, Jewish identity building and social action. This year’s group easily adapted to the changing landscape by enthusiastically participating in three workshops: exploring personal identity, communication and connection and sharing a virtual Shabbat experience. Fellows and their families received a Shabbat kit and learned strategies for mindful meditation and meaningful conversation without technology. The fellows then came together for Havdallah, where they examined the significance of the ceremony that marks the symbolic end of Shabbat and ushers in the new week with a sense of sweetness, light and joy.
