Elected Officials Come Together to Stand Against Anti-Semitism and Support Israel

More than 1,200 people in our community logged on to Wednesday’s Urgent Town Hall Briefing on Anti-Semitism and Israel organized by Federation and our three South Florida Jewish federations — Broward County, South Palm Beach County and Palm Beach County. Florida Senators Marco Rubio (R) and Rick Scott (R) and South Florida Congressional Representatives Ted Deutch (D), Mario Diaz-Balart (R), Lois Frankel (D), Carlos Gimenez (R), Brian Mast (R) and Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D) spoke live to reiterate the importance of bipartisan support for Israel — the only democracy in the Middle East — and the urgency of standing strong against the alarming rise in anti-Semitism. Many of them shared details about the work they are doing in Washington, D.C. The virtual event was organized in partnership with ADL, AJC, the Consulate General of Israel in Miami and the Rabbinical Association of Greater Miami.
