Federation Food Initiative Helping Yerucham Post-October 7

Established more than a decade ago, the Negev Now Network (NNN), a coalition of four Jewish federations, including Miami, Philadelphia, Metrowest NJ and Montreal, is working to improve the region by leveraging community resources and relationships. By focusing on local industries, agriculture, entrepreneurs and the unique skills of its residents, NNN is transforming the Negev into a hub of growth and vibrancy, and, in the aftermath of October 7, resilience and radical restoration. The group has invested more than $3 million in the region, funding innovative initatives and piloting unprecedented programs. One recent example is Yerucham’s public pop-up kitchen in an existing community kitchen and bakery, which empowered displaced Israelis to prepare meals for themselves and their families. To bolster emotional healing and resilience, the kitchen also provided therapeutic culinary sessions with Yerucham’s Culinary Queens, a woman-owned small business and Federation partner.
