Federation-Supported Nonprofits Receive Prestigious Genesis Prize

Three nonprofits supported by Federation’s Israel Emergency Fund have been awarded Israel’s prestigious 2024 Genesis Prize. The $1 million prize is typically presented to an individual for their professional achievements, contributions to humanity and commitment to Jewish values. However, this year the award was given to organizations focused on the hostages held captive by Hamas, those released and the families of the hostages in an effort to raise international awareness and provide humanitarian assistance. The Federation-funded honorees are The Jewish Agency for Israel’s Fund for Victims of Terror, which provides immediate financial aid to terror victims and their families; the Hostages and Missing Families Forum, which advocates on behalf of the hostages and cares for family members and those who have returned; and NATAL, which provides psychological and emotional treatment and support for victims of trauma due to war and terror.
