Hurricane Ian Emergency Relief Fund Update

Thanks to your generous donations to the Greater Miami Jewish Federation Hurricane Ian Emergency Relief Fund, The Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) has allocated nearly $1 million to help individuals and institutions in the Jewish and general Florida communities significantly impacted by the storm. Following an extensive assessment of needs in the Fort Myers/Lee County area, funds were distributed to help the local Jewish Federation restock its food pantry and provide support for families who suffered large-scale losses. Synagogues that suffered considerable damage received assistance for structural repairs, and the Federation obtained funding to improve its infrastructure, including IT upgrades to better communicate with its community. Outside Fort Myers/Lee County, Jewish Federations received allocations to restore damaged buildings and support senior centers and a Jewish day school. Additional funds were given to international relief agencies providing humanitarian aid to the general community in Fort Myers/Lee County.
