Festive Holidays for Kosher Food Bank Clients

food bank

Thanks to a generous contribution from the Saul Schottenstein Foundation, clients of Federation’s primary human service agency, Jewish Community Services of South Florida (JCS) Kosher Food Bank, will receive a grocery gift card to supplement their food packages provided for the New Year. These cards allow individuals and families to shop in stores with dignity for special items they want to include in their holiday celebration. The program also provides the cards in advance of Hanukkah, Pesach and during the summer. “Uncle Saul believed in the importance of our Jewish community and helping those in need; he was always giving,” said nieces Ann Deshe and Susie Diamond</b<. “He had no children of his own, but was committed to helping other Jewish families in his own quiet way.” Since the pandemic began, JCS has seen a 33 percent increase in individuals and families needing its services. If you or someone you know needs help, please contact our Jewish community's confidential helpline at 305.576.6550.
