Federation Leaders Visit Israel on Impactful Mission

A group of Jewish Miami leaders recently returned from an Israel Study Trip, an in-depth journey to see how Federation dollars are helping individuals, families and communities recover from the attacks of October 7. Organized by Federation’s Israel and Overseas Department, participants visited our partnership communities of Yerucham and Kibbutz Or HaNer, saw several projects for women and girls supported by our Women’s Amutot Initiative and various initiatives funded by the Annual Campaign and Israel Emergency Fund. Throughout their time in Israel, the group learned how Federation is assisting displaced families, soldiers defending Israel, children, the elderly and marginalized populations. They also joined in volunteer projects, such as the one pictured here run by Tikkun Olam Makers, which benefits toddlers with mobility issues. Said Sheree Savar, Israel and Overseas Chair, “We were able to let Israelis know we are supporting them during this difficult time. And they are really understanding the importance of the Diaspora; we are a people, no matter where we live.” Stay tuned to Federation Five for future reports on this impactful visit to Israel.
