One Year of War in Ukraine

One year after the start of Russia’s bloody invasion of Ukraine, the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) — including the Greater Miami Jewish Federation — have invested $85 million in humanitarian aid and relief efforts to tens of thousands of people trapped in the war zone. Together, Federation, JFNA, a network of beneficiary agencies and dozens of non-governmental organizations have provided: 500,000 people with life-saving assistance and relief; 700,000 meals distributed to civilians; 65,000 people with aliyah assistance; 130,000 people with medical care; and 4,000 medical and mental health professionals. Federation is uniquely positioned to respond swiftly and effectively to the crisis in the region due to our longstanding collaboration with our overseas partners in Ukraine and the surrounding area, including the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, The Jewish Agency for Israel and World ORT. They continue to provide critical support for internal and external displaced Ukrainians, housing, security and basic necessities as the war drags on into its second year.
