Miami-Yerucham Partnership Provides Tablets for Yerucham’s Older Adults

Federation emergency grants distributed in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic are helping older adults living in our partner city of Yerucham, Israel, connect with family and friends. The Miami-Yerucham Partnership recently approved the purchase and distribution of 40 tablet devices (Kshishophone) for elderly residents of Yerucham, allowing them to connect with family and friends. Teen volunteers assembled the devices, distributed them and showed the seniors how to use them, helping them feel less isolated during the pandemic. Since the coronavirus crises began, Federation’s Miami-Yerucham Partnership has been critical in supporting the community as it faces a number of new challenges, including engaging the city's award-winning robotics team to produce more than 700 face shields for teachers, professionals and volunteers working with vulnerable populations in the city, as well as for organizations serving children and young adults with special needs.
