Senior Director, Major & Principal Gifts

Job Description Summary
The Greater Miami Jewish Federation seeks a senior-level relationship builder to engage a rapidly growing population of high and ultra-high net worth Jewish individuals and families who have relocated to Miami in recent years. This is a rare opportunity to shape how a new generation of philanthropists connects to Jewish life, communal responsibility, and lasting impact. The Senior Director will manage a portfolio of high-capacity donors with an emphasis on discovery and relationship building, working closely with senior leadership and lay leaders.
This is a frontline fundraising role focused on building philanthropic relationships where they do not yet exist. The Senior Director will serve as a key architect of the Federation’s new-philanthropy strategy and a critical member of the team that will launch a multi-hundred million dollar capital and endowment campaign.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and cultivate high-capacity donors.
- Develop customized long-term donor engagement strategies.
- Conduct in-person donor engagement and solicit major gifts across all streams of income.
- Build and advance a robust $100,000+ donor pipeline.
- Partner with executive and lay leadership.
- Recruit and manage select volunteers.
- Design curated donor engagement experiences.
- Track donor engagement using best practices.

- Increased Federation presence among newly arrived potential donors.

Qualifications & Skills
- Demonstrated success with major or principal gifts.
- Proven ability to build donor relationships from scratch.
- High discretion and comfort working with wealth.
- Strategic thinker with excellent communication skills.
- Experience in universities, healthcare, or cultural institutions encouraged.
- Knowledge of Jewish philanthropy a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
The Greater Miami Jewish Federation offers a competitive salary range of $170,000–$200,000, with final compensation determined based on experience, performance history, and demonstrated ability to secure and steward major and principal gifts. A comprehensive benefits package is provided, and additional considerations such as relocation assistance may be available.

Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations.
This position is not sedentary and requires regular walking, standing, and moving throughout the building and grounds. The Facilities Manager must be able to inspect facilities, access various areas of the building, and oversee or assist with physical setup activities. The role occasionally requires lifting or carrying items up to 25 pounds, such as event materials or supplies. Responding to facility emergencies may involve climbing stairs, entering mechanical areas, or moving quickly to resolve urgent issues. The position also requires the ability to work on-site for extended periods and comfortably navigate both indoor and outdoor environments.
